- 1.Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine
The shine is located at the Dazaifu city in Fukuoka pref. is a Tenmangu shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the ninth century scholar and politician. Since the enshrined deity is associated with academic pursuits, students from all over Japan come to pray for success in the entrance examination.

This archaeological site, a National Special Historical Site, bears a close resemblance to the ancient Japanese country of Yamataikoku, which is mentioned in the Gishi Wajinden, the oldest historical record that references Japan.
